David Villa Sanchez [Forward]

A comment by Midas Mulligan Midas Mulligan about Villa getting better from year 1 made me wonder if he should be getting consideration by Spain for the WC? Maybe someone that knows more about European football can give some insight.
probably not. his competition is diego costa, morata, torres who's become better since rejoining atletico, paco alcacer and a few others who are younger and playing at the highest levels.
like giovinco, playing in the mls gets them overlooked

Holy fuck, it actually happened.

So happy for him...but sucks for us.

They better actually play him

so he'll miss the 9/6 midweek home match v SKC as Spain plays Italy (9/2) and Liechtenstein (9/5) and if he's back for Portland on 9/9 possibly he'd not start dependent upon if he plays for Spain and effects of travel

I don't expect The Captain will be playing 180 minutes for Spain -- very graceful way for Villa to get some games off going into the final stretch.

I think you meant, "MLS is playing during NT games."

In an 8-month season, how the hell they can't avoid international breaks I'll never understand.
Main culprit the last two years has been the Gold Cup and Copa America. MLS has gone on break during the group stages two years in a row. Gold Cup needs to be an every four year event like Euros.

Shit. He's likely going to play, even if it is as a sub. Quite a few Spain supporters have been calling for him to get called up for a while now. They know his quality. I mean, they haven't exactly poured in the goals. Torres starts for them a bit. They can and will use him, I believe.
