The Outfield

More on the CPC approval, upcoming City Council review and the near certainty of approval there, quotes from Sims on design and ticket affordability and other non-ULURP reviews to come before shovels hit the ground.

Do we know when shovels hit the ground/groundbreaking will be? After ULURP, they still have to wait for the Borough Board to finish before they can get started? And how long is that process expected to be?

I really like the design choices they made, they follow basically everything I think most of us have been saying - let's hope it keeps going that way.
Especially the ideas echoed by fans of being rectangular, with a sort-of architecturally nice design that won't make it stick out like a sore thumb. I'm looking forward to being able to attend one game a year! lol

I don't have a good answer on this unfortunately. I've been trying to gain a sense of timing of the Borough Board vote, but haven't been able to find a whole lot.

I will say, I imagine they're pushing as hard as they can to have it as quickly as possible. They're doing everything they can to speed things up so I imagine this will go the same way as well.

For example, out of all the items that were voted on at the last CPC meeting, only one of them was added to Land Use review by City Council the next day, and it was Willets Point Phase 2. They even already had it on the agenda to be added prior to CPC's vote.

Paul dives into the NYCFC II roster and breaks down their strengths and weaknesses.

It's a great preview if you're watching the USOC tonight. If you're not, it's still great insight into the second team and their purpose.

Doing a mailbag this week. Drop any questions you want us to answer!

What are the analytics saying about our start? Is there reason to believe we're going to improve, or are we regressing from the end of last year? Is there any way to look at the impact of coaching on our start?

Any intel or speculation on summer transfer activity, either buying or selling?

Give me any reason to be optimistic about this team. What should I look forward to when watching each game?

New one from SoupInNYC SoupInNYC. Founding member brick details and the new Tunnel Club in this one!

Great article!

Is there no plan to put an emblem or something of orange seats into the seating? I think an nycfc monogram would look amazing especially if it was right in the center of the camera view, but from the renders I don't see it

Doesn't appear that way at the moment but it's a possibility. I think the actual meeting today will shed some light perhaps on things that may still be tweaked.

Most of the color schemes around the stadium are different shades of black and the two blues, so I would guess orange seats would likely not happen.

However, I do think that it could be possible with the different shades of blue to do something like a monogram. I'm assuming that the different colors for the seats shown in the design was first and foremost to designate club seating vs non-club seating, though would bet good money on those colors being what will be used throughout to some degree.

But like I said, will likely have a better picture later today when they actually run through the presentation. They've budgeted just under an hour for it.

this is from the supporters section first look x posts. I know this is from supporters lifting up cards, but they should just throw the monogram into the seats just like that. or at least the pigeon or racquinho.
